Question 2nd Gen Camry Alltrac

Just how many people actually have one? Does anyone know production numbers, etc?

I know of several... But even though I'v had 4 camrys and 2 es250's none have been AllTrac. Now my Previa is AllTrac. I suppose you might want to know if they were automatic or standard, answer is both. If I had to guess I would say one out of 20 gen2 camry's are AllTrac.

They aren't common, but they also aren't too rare. I'd say out of the 20-30 Gen2s I notice each week (There's a lot of them around here), one is an All-Trac.

It's nearly impossible to buy one these days. People don't sell them. They drive them to death because they're such a great car.

To give you an idea of how in-demand these cars are in good condition: http://www.buysell.com/showad.asp?id=29155883 (Buysell.com)

Wow... I guess I should feel special then.

I have a 1990 DX Alltrac 5 spd. Its got 285k miles on the original engine and transmission. I bought it less than a year ago from a junkyard for $400 w/ a new clutch. Hell I didn't even know they even existed till I saw it.

I will be swapping out the motor and drive-train with an ST185 halfcut pretty soon. The halfcut should be in by December, so I am hoping to have the car swapped by Jan. or Feb.

Have/has anyone completed such a swap yet?

Theres a few guys that have 3S-GTE swaps in gen 2 Camrys.

But I haven't seen any gen 2 Camry all trac to 3S-GTE all trac though.

The latest one I've heard of is a 3S-GTE from a ST205 Celica into a gen 2 Camry.

They use to have highway patrol Camrys...

Don't quote me on this but I remember reading somewhere in ToySport that somewhere in KY, ToySport modified at one 2nd gen Camry to be a police car, putting a 3SGTE engine and the usually cop modifications.

Not sure if it was an All-trac but I always wanted one. The potential...drools.
