Make 99 Camry DRL into seperate lamp CHALLANGE!

hi, I am retro fitting my 99 camry's head light using E55 bi xenon projector. I do not want my DRL to be HID, is there a way I can hook up aftermarket fog light as DRL and is shut off during Xenon Low Beam? a rewirign diagram or comment would be greatly appricated! thank you.

Do you have to have DRL? You know you can easily disconnect it right?

ahh k. Yeah coz in Australia we don't really call them that. I think that would be the equivilant of out 'Parking Lights' which are all the lights on except headlights, for when it's dusk.

I will get some pics on. But basicly, I cut the back of my housing, then put a piece of metal on it and glued it. I used the that metal to hold my projectors. The bad thing is, e55 is not bright as the other projectors. If you didn't retrofit it yet, sell it and get e46, a lot brighter and easy to fit. After you stick that in, it's a pain in the ass to put a shroud on it. I used dog bowl for my shroud, with a lot of modifications.
About your drl, I don't think it's possible. Unless you want to make a switch for your headlight. Then use your headlight harness connect it with your foglights, then you will have drl on your fog, and turn on your headlight with the switch.

Sorry, I know it's an old thread...

But I agree with itzsteven. I bought both E55 and E46 bi-xenon projectors when I did my retrofit. E46 is a much easier fit.

I disagree that the E55 is dimmer though, the pattern is just different. E55 has a narrower low beam, wide high beam, E46 is opposite: more of a wide low beam, narrow high beam. Both are a big improvement over stock H4's in the Gen4 Camry.

Good luck =)

thanx,
well.. I had to make a custom shroud for the projectors inorder to fit in. I pretty much found one of those are vent piep adapters that changes x section 4" into 3" diameter. I am still perfecting them right but should be done pretty soon. i will post pic. once I am done for sure as I will be the first 99camrybixenon in town~
