I assume you already did this, by judging your post date.
Did you have to remove the lower cover to take out one of the mounting nut?
Or, how did you do it?

lower cover?? mounting nut???

the nuts are on the inside of the vehicle.

the only other thing besides the master cylinder you have to take off is MAYBE the brake booster.

yes, they are inside, but they are way up above the pedals, and they don't seem to be easily reached.

Lower cover, I mean the piece of trim that goes under the steering wheel, which needs to be removed for pedal adjustments.

Mounting nuts, the nuts which hold the cylinder from inside. one of them is way up there.

it would help to take that access trim off. the far up nut (behind the pedal assembly in my pic) is difficult to get to, but you can do it with some swearing and pain. get that one off first though, cause once you loosen it, you can get it with your fingers instead of a wrench or socket. then the other one is easy to reach with a socket.
