cv axle help! (pass.)

well I put in a new axle because I broke the bearings in the knuckle but it still doing the whining/grinding noise on the pass. side. The axle is BARELY spinning, but the driver side is working fine so I don't think its the tranny, I could be wrong tho. Can the axle still be loose by the tranny that causing this whining/grinding noise? Im in desprite need of some help.

change the cv joint, not the half shaft. if the bearings are worn, changing the half shaft will still mean you still have worn bearings in the cv joint.

if the sound is really really really bad as soon as ya in gear, it could be that the shaft isnt in properly. it took me a giant wooden log and excessive force to get my half shaft in temporarily to get it moving again.

wheel bearings will cause it, did you break one of those? what part of TX are you in? there is a toyotoa shop in dallas (garland) called JP imports, he does toyota/lexus only and is going to do my inner and outer cv joints (entire axle replacement on each side) and a tranny drain and fill for me.
