I have gen 4, with 215/45/17 right now, can I put 225/50/17 on without rubbing? I know the speedmeter gonna read little wrong, but i'm not really care about it. Please let me know asap. I have to get it by tomorrow. My rims are motegi mr7
Pending if the car is dropped then it will rub definitely no doubt. Best setup is 215/45/17. If you plan to go with your 225 setup you will need a camber kit or some spacers to solve the problem.
It will be fine. 100% sure. Have fun and good luck!

I have 215/45/17 and the car is lowered quite a bit, I get very slight rub on full lock on the chassis. Nothing to worry about. But with 225's...it will rub for sure if it's lowered or gna be. Otherwise, it should be sweet!
Goodluck.

might also be important to note the rear clearance issues as well. my old '93 corolla(eibach sportlines, tokico blues) had some rubbing issues with the plus size tires. took care of it by rolling my fenders with a baseball bat wrapped in a soft towel. this would help only if the tires were rubbing the fender not if tires are rubbing chassis/suspension components.
