Like you haven't seen enough of my car...well decided to de-rice my car as much as possible and changed out my old duel-tipped OBX with a Tenzo-R single tipped muffler. It tucks much better, sounds a little louder than OEM but much better than the old rice-burner which whined like hell, and I also gained most of the low-end that I had lost with the previous muffler. Also shaved emblems and there are some new photos on my site. Here ya go

Since most Solaras have spoilers and yours doesn't, perhaps it looks alittle weird at first. But once you do get used to it, the car is much cleaner looking. I say nay to the spoiler.
Keep it up Tmanana! and continued success at future shows. BTW- stop being a perv and taking pics of girls checking out your ride behind a bush and get some close-ups man!
But Phi....I paid her $5 to have her stand by my car and look interested....so I was determined to get my money's worth  Anyways, well I think I am geting close to the end of the road....not too much more I can do at this point. I guess in the near future: Molly Designs kit, aftermarket struts, and maybe small things like TRD rear sway...and I guess I will be done (for now). I think that would keep it clean and functional as a daily driver (besides the damn new box I built...I can't wait till the show season is over so I can have my trunk back). Would be nice to start to save up a bit of money....lol. But thanks for the good words and I guess the court is still out on the spolier.

Thanks guys...well I found out they had welded the OBX muffler solid to the frame so I got a lot of vibrations that really made the drive unpleasant. I had assumed it was just the typical rice-burner thing....but they had actually welded the hanger to the body. Oh well....that shop will not be used again (same place that cut my CV boot installing my springs). It was pritty loud....especially since I am using a TRD filter and not an intake. However, I just wanted a very subtle drone and just a little roar when I hit it. Very satisfied with the new Tenzo-R so far.

Looks great Tmanana !!! I like those eneki rims, how have you liked them since you have had them ?? I am looking at getting the CDR9 in 18'' or Motegi MR7's in 18'' Also, where did you get that muffler ?? how much was it? has it hurt your performance at all on the low or high end ??
hey DCTodd....well I have absolutely loved these Enkeis. I actually was looking at those CDR9s for awhile, but when I went in to Discount Tire to finally make a decision, they went and showed me those 5+s which had just arrived that week. I was a bit hesitant at first, but they put them on my car and placed a few of the Koenigs and a few of the other Enkeis besides them, and for some reason this rim just stood out. Get lots of compliments. Do wish they made a 18in version, but then again the harsh roads of Charlotte have given these rims a beating, and they seem to be holding up....so all in all I am pleased with my decision to go w/ the 17s.
Anyways, when it comes to my new muffler....I am very much happy with the switch from the OBX to the Tenzo-R. With my car being a 4-banger, and the duel-tipped design of the previous muffler, I just lost a ton of back pressure. Sure, I would get a nice kick in the 3,500 - 4,000 RPM range, but before then it was like pulling teeth. With the new muffler I gained all that back it seems, and I like the soft drone to it. Off with the rice and in with the....spice? slice? nice? Well you know what I mean. Trying to make the car as clean as possible. Well, got it for $140 USD at a local speed shop here in Charlotte. Basically, a muffler, is a muffler, is a muffler. There are some differences in quality, but I would not go overboard unless you are willing to invest in a cat-back system.

Oh....it's going to happen. Just having to wait a bit to save enough, plus I have been concentrating on the audio setup, since that is my main emphasis. However, hoping by Hot Import Nights in Atlanta or at the latest the NOPI show in Atlanta to be kitted :smile:But anyways, thanks for the good words.

4) Iridium spark plugs $70
5) Intake + exhaust $400

Yeah it's going to take some time...and money...</font>
Yep...time and money....all of which I am lacking by this point...lol. Well I can't wait to see the finished product. Is that price for the 19s with tires? If so, boy that seems like an awsome deal. TV wise, I think you would be happier off getting a single-din fold-out, just for the simple fact that a 5in is a real strain on the eyes. I think clarion makes a 7in LCD/radio flip out for about the same price. Anyways, take photos of the buildup and good luck!
