As a matter of fact, I just saw it done to several cars last weekend. Assuming it is just the stick on kind, and not the plug in ones, you take some fishing line and pull it back and forth under it. then you have to use something to get the tape residue off but I forgot what it is. Sorry

If there is residue left behind, use Goo Gone. Get it in the spray bottle. Get a non-abrasive rag. Soak gunk with Goo Gone. Let it set for a minute. Scrape the gunk with the rag. Repeat this until the gunk is gone.
If you have a mismatching paint spot where the badge was, get some polish and work it in following the instructions. If that doesn't fix the problem, take it to a shop and have them buff it for $50.
I wish I didn't have 6 holes to bondo and paint on my trunk(gen2)
I believe your C-A-M-R-Y letters will have no holes, but everything else will.
If you spray black, be sure to do a good job on em. A few coats of black, then a few of clear, let it dry between each coat, and they should withstand the elements. Good luck
