Re - Thinking front air dam???

I mentioned that I was going to get the Vizage front air dam for the Gen 5 Camry. I wanted it because it wouldn't obstruct the stock fog lights. Well I've finally got my lowering springs, rear sway bar and front strut brace on. I parked in my driveway and this is what I saw.

So I'm re-thinking that Vizage front air dam. I don't think I could park on my driveway anymore. I need to measure but I don't have the specs on the Vizage to campare it to. Does anyone know how far below the stock front end it hangs down? Anyone bought one and can measure it for me?

Mike

Holy shit! Did you cut those lowering springs or something??? Your like an inch off the ground! Or is that just the slant of your driveway?

from the looks of the picture; it looks like the driveway is slanted...

either that or mikey must have jacked up his rear and make his front looked slammed... just kidding...

but yeah, i have the front lip of the vizage and i told you in the old thread before... i haven't lowered my car yet because i'm really lazy in cornering/angling when there is a dip because its too much of a hassle for me, especially if i'm late to go to my class then with being careless, you know how that will turn out

okay, back to the vizage front kit, well it is too cold for me to go out in the garage to measure but i know that it is more than an inch or so off the ground, but i still have A LOT of scratch on my bottom lip and its ugly and its starting to rise up. and i've mentioned before that i have to go back to the shop to redo it the 3rd/4th time. and this scratch is without the lowered springs! especially when i'm careful driving, there is some spots that i wouldn't realize that i would have to corner/angel or else i would have a big lovely scrap sound

so the solution for me in the future is...
*mental note to self: research on air suspension*

oh yeah, i forgot to mention that i've read somewhere in the thread in the past; not so long ago...

it was kasimmm; he was mentioning that he dropped his sibling off to school or something, and it was on a slant road and hit front oem kit... one of them came off

-so from someone's else experience, i've learned from their resource/infos too.

There has got to be a slant in your driveway. But you can make it in your driveway you are just going straight in, you should come in at an angle and you shouldn't have a problem.

Sorry guys, I thought you would be able to see that it's inclined from the picture. Yes, my driveway does go up. It's got a rolled curb then it goes level about the width of a sidewalk. Then it goes up about three feet into the garage.

I need to be able to go up it straight since my wife's 2003 SE parks on the other side of the driveway(My garage is full of shit. I need to go on that Clean Sweep TV show ). And the way it looks it would be super close or touching. That sucks because I really wanted the look of the Vizage front air dam. I would hate to have to park in the street.

1MZ-FE,

Cum on. It's not that cold to go lie on the concrete garage floor and measure the air dam.
Seriously though I would appreciate a measurement from a known reference point like the bottom of the fog lights or the bottom air opening. When ever you get a chance my Toyota brother.

TIA,

Mike

Unless you want to tell your wife to back out her car so you can pull in, and then tell her to pull back in... argh, what a hassle.

This is a quote that I hear quite often in many forums and it kinda got stuck in my head now since it relates to various things; so here it is...

"gotta pay to play"
