if you have the money, go straight to coilovers....if you get a good set of springs and a good set of struts, it'll end up being pretty close to the price of a set of coilovers anywa

except that with coilovers you'll get to lower and raise the car as much as you want, along with good performance too

Coilovers > All

You can adjust everything with coilovers. Camber, toe, ride height, spring rate, etc.

I wouldn't buy anything else

Ok man. There is a BIG difference between the 2.

Here are the differences:
1. One costs around 200, The other costs 1500+ (1300 if you jump on that group buy in the group buy forum)
2. One is a set height, The other is adjustable with a press of a button.
3. One is stiffer and gives much better handling than the other.

can you adjust the height of coilovers? cause sometimes someone may only want a 1.2" drop instead of a 2.5" drop, making it impossible to enter and leave their driveway.

Think of them like hydraulics on a lowrider. But give good ride quality.

Correction:

Camry coilovers are adjustable but not with a press of a button.

Really?
Because I have heard from friends that it is a control like in your engine bay and you can set your heights.

^ wouldn't think it would take even that long....its one big unit....if you have an impact gun, you can have all four corners out of the car within 30min easy

if you have a big wrench and a lot of arm you can just change the height with them still fitted.

Teins have an electronically controlled dampers.. i think thats what your friends are talking about.. but Tein doesnt make one for camry thats electronically adjustable.. and plus.. it doesnt adjust the ride height.. just the dampers..

as for thee question, springs or coilovers.. it depends on how much money youre willing to spend.. and also how youre going to drive your car.. if youre going to drive it everyday and auto-x it, coilover would be better.. because you can adjust the ride height and damper rate.. so that you can set the height to be lower and the damper to be stiffer than for everyday use..
but if you want to use it as an everyday driver, i would go with springs and shocks.. because your driving condition wont change as drastic and it would also be cheaper.. (around 500-600 bucks for struts and springs)
