KYB GR-2 struts

http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/S...perf&x=73&y=10

I have a question. If you go to this web site it says I can get 2 Front fitment of KYB GR-2 at $43each and 2 Rear fitment at $45each which is a total of $176. But if I buy everything sepeartae like the Front Left fitment, and Front Right fitment it comes out to more. Is this beacuse one product is the shocks and the other is the struts?

Replacement cartridges are cheaper that the whole strut assembly. You can replace the cartridge only if you have servicable struts......that is a strut with a large nut holding the cartridge in place. Only problem is....it is very difficult to remove the nut. You will need a very large bench vise and a large pipe wrench, and probaly a long pipe to provide additional leverge for the pipe wrench. I was able to find a large vise designed for clampping pipe that held the strut in place. Not an easy task. If you don't have a large vise/pipe vise, I suggest buying the whole cartridge. Be careful when compressing the spring....it can be very dangerous.
