HI everybody, i need a little help with my 1997 camry altenator today i was trying to remove the alt so i pulled out the bolt that hold the alt to the altenator bracket
after it was removed i still could NOT remove the alt ,there seems to be some type of sleeve that goes through the alt bracket hole and into the alt mounting hole so i cant take the alt all the way off any help thanks

it doesn't go in, it's an adjuster that slides. Just pry the alternator out if you have removed the 2 bolts that secure it.

If your alternator looks like this (98 Sienna): Altenator
Try this way:
After your removed the alternator bolt and the adjuster (belt tension) bolt, turn the alternator sleeve (hex head) to lossen alternator from the engine (mount) bracket.
