Question Tail Light Problem?

Hi,

I drive a Gen 4 Camry (99 LE), when I started up my car and as soon as my car started rolling the symbol from the bottom left corner of the dash turns on. The symbol looks like a car with the taillights on. Does anyone know what the problem is for my car?

Thanks in advance!

You either have a tail light or brake light bulb out.

Ya... My dad looked at the back of the car and I pressed my brake and the brake light bulb is burnt out!

Thanks for the info... I'm gonna go to the dealership tomorrow and get the bulb replaced.... Thanks~

^ don't go to the dealership...if you go in JUST for a bulb, they might charge you labor...

just poke around and you can figure out how to do it yourself

nOObie,

The owner's manual should show you how to access the bulb that is out and how to change it.

Be sure it is actually the bulb. I thought I had a brake light out but my rear spoiler light is also out. I changed the bulb and it worked until I closed the trunk which changed the position of the wire to the spoiler lights.
Now, I am thinking it is a short in the wire since it is spliced to be used for the spoiler brake light. Will trace soon to find out.

^ He's a nOObie, what can you expect?!

txtony, you might have a pinched wire by the left side harness in the trunk. It's a very common problems with the camrys. Splice open the harness and take a look....

I will take a look. Thanks.
I presume you mean about where the splice to the spoiler light occurs, correct?
