Another small project complete. Painted the stock calipers red and installed new cross drilled slotted rotors. Rotors were bright silver due to the zinc plating. Well I burnt that off really quick. The Akebono Ceramic pads recommends a seating process which got my new shit pretty HOT!!! But it actually helped the new rotors alot. You could feel the brakes pulsing over the virgin slots. Not any more. Everything is silky smooth as a babies butt. Next stop 18" Chrome.

First off thanks guys for all the props.
I used the G2 caliper paint. It's a 2 part epoxy paint which has a 4 hour working time. I needed all of it.
I took my calipers apart (I Left the cylinder assembly connected to the brake line. I used wire hangers to support the cylinder assembly from the coil spring. The caliper housing was hung from hangers over the work bench) and spent about 2 hours cleaning them. I used the cleaning spray in the G2 kit to give them a final washing. I did three coats of paint and had probably one third of the can left. The first coat was thin, making sure to get paint on all the proper surfaces. The following 2 coats were thicker looking for even coverage. You're going to have some running, it's inevitable. Don't worry though, I used a ravor knife to trim unwanted runs from machined surfaces.
