Help me pic some 18" chrome.

I was all set to purchase Kazera KZ-A rims from tirerack.com.

When I saw this pic.

I don't like the way the spokes seem to protrude beyond the rims edge. So now I'm shopping again and need second and third opinions.

I want 18"x8" chrome rims sporting 225/45-18 tires. The reason I want 18" chromes is because I've seen pictures of rims that don't have enough sidewall on the tire. Ouch! A 45 is as short as I want to go and an 18" fits a 45 series very well. The reason for chrome is because my car is a dark color with dark tint. It also has smoked tails & license plate covers. The emblems are all Black Pearl so I needed some contrast in the color of the rims. So here's a few of the rims I've found so far that I like.

ASA JH-3

Zinik Z5

Zinik Z7

American Racing Casino ( would be fitting since I work on the Las Vegas Strip )

MB Design Vision

MB Design Shifter

MB Design Rev

MB Motorsports VR5S

MB Design Gear

Armano Hampton

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Any other suggestions are also welcome.

Mike

I say get your original choice! I was going to get those too! But I changed my mind and am going to get racing rims now.

But those are great. And are low cost too.

But otherwise, I'd say the ASA JH-3. All the other ones look tacky (like they should be on an Escalade or something). Those look nice and clean. And will fit your car nicely.

Wow!!!

I found these rims on ebay.

ADR Sterling Chrome 18"x8.5"

Only $599.00 for a set of 4 + $135 shipping. They look pretty hot.
Only question is with a 8.5" width is the offset of 32mm enough to clear the strut?

Does anybody know if they will clear???

I know these are played out 2003 style rims but if it ain't broke don't fix it right?

Thanks for all the suggestions.

But I'm still wondering if those ADR Sterlings will fit??? They're 18"x8.5" with a 32mm offset. I think the 32mm offset will give me the clearance I need to clear the strut. But I would hate to buy them on a hunch. And the dude didn't seel all of his sets so he dropped the price to $577.00 + $125.00 Shipping. That's $175.00 per rim delivered. Can't beat those prices. Here's a picture of those ADR Sterling on a car, looks pretty sweet.

Here's my thinking so far.

In the Ultimate Camry fact it states that the Gen 5 Camry has an offset of 50mm. And the stock tire Michelin Energy MXV4 215/60-16 has a section width of 9.0". I'm assuming the factory tires have 6.5" rims. So if I go up to a 8.5" tire I will have taken up 1" of inner strut clearance. But with the rim having an offset of 32mm that will move the tire out by .71" meaning I've used up only .29" of inner strut clearance. And with my new tire ( BFGoorich g-Force T/A KDW-2 225/45-18) sitting on an 8.5" rim the section width is only .3" wider. With .29" of that extra width going in board. So my calculations are saying it would fit.

Anyone come up with different numbers???

Mike
