UK P 500 error code

Hi, the cars chucking out a p500 error code. We know this is the speed sensor but can anyone tell me how you get round this. Could it also have something to do with the fact that the ecu is an auto and it's running a manual gearbox???

Cheers Phil.

I have an auto ECU and manual gearbox as well, and have never seen that error, so I doubt that is the problem. Not sure how to get around it, I'd say just triple check the wires and sensor.

The wiring has been checked three times could be a problem with the sensor or could be a fault on the ecu?

I just checked the wiring diagram, it looks like the VSS is connected to the gauges, then the gauges to the ECU, so it may be the difference in the MR2 gagues from the Camry ones.

One of the problems we had overhere was finding info i.e. wiring diagrams. It may be the case that the wiring info we had could be from a different model/year camry.
