Angry stupid windshield wiper...

yeah so im driving, in pouring down rain, and suddenly my passenger side windsheild wiper just, ya kno, decides to stop working. It moves freely (if i were to push it) and the other windshield wiper still works....

What went wrong? and how do i get access to the wiper motors in case i need replacement???

the gears inside could be stripped.....but if that were the case, I think there would have been symptoms prior to it jus dying on you all of a sudden

wiper problems

I have a 1982 truck, and have the same problem. Weird thing is, the wiper on the driver's siide works great, and it's the furthest from the motor. The passenger side wiper just died, and I have replaced it with another wiper arm. The arm is not stripped, nor is the moving wiper part that is connected to the linkage that the arm attaches to.
I wanted to see if I could check the wiper linkage by removing the cowl louver. The manual says I can remove two screws to open up the cowl louver, but, I have yet to find these two " mystery screws."
Anyone have any idea how to check the linkage? Thanks, Cheap Truck

This has happened to me ... what you need to do is get a wire hanger and attach the working wiper to the dead one bahaha.

If it turns out to be the gear as it was for me instead of replacing the unit i drilled into the wiper arm and gear and used a set screw ... worked great and was invisible, a cheap repair for a 12 yo car

Maybe you just need to tighten the nut, make sure you use a ratchet and not your hand because you won't be able to get it tight enough otherwise.
