Camry about to die (tranny)

Well... my camry is about to die of transmission failure... wonderful eh? Today when I started it up, it just sorta revved in drive for like 3 minutes before i was able to get going... after it warmed up a bit it didnt have much problems... for all you 1mz auto owners, how hard does your car pull? can it spin tires off the line or does it have trouble with that, cause mine couldnt even dream of spinning em...

if anyone in the Minneapolis/St.Paul (Minnesota) are might have a tranny for sale, please let me know... dont think my manual swap is going to happen cause finding everything needed for it is im-fucking-possible...

thanks all.

i cant find any of the parts i need locally... and shipping is a whore from wherever you are... lol, plus, i have a 3S-GTE on order, which kinda bugs me cause i cant find the tranny to go with the engine... prolly just gonna have to go with an N/A MR2 and swap it in that this summer... but id rather do the camry currently, more interesting car to see fly :-P

All I can do is offer the place that I got mine done at. It's over on Rice street. They do good work, but it cost me $2000. Probably a little cheaper since yours is a different tranny. But that's about all I can do right now.

You still have the Corsica to drive? If I have some time, and you have the money ready, I could find you what you need. For the 3s-gte, or for the 1mz (which I suggest staying with) But you would have to have the money ready, and I can't*promise the best price in the world on short notice. It would be take whatever I can find. That' about all I can do.

How do you guys burn out lol....You guys just press the gas and hope it burns them lol.....If order for a good auto burn out you
1) Put your foot on the brake
2) Put your foot on the gas
3) Stomp your foot that is on the gas
4) Really fast let off the brake
there go...if my 5sfe can chirp them i think a v6 can burn them...come guys wake up and smell the rice

do a manual tranny swap. i did... its the best thing you can do for a v6 auto...
dont even think you can use a mr2 NA 5sfe tranny... you need the camry v6 tranny for the 3sgte too... its an e153, same as the mr2 tranny. but the shift linkage is on the correct side for the camry.

CamryWhat? none of the A/T v6's can burn the tires stock without:
1) driving in reverse and slamming WOT and shifting to L (this will leave two long black streaks)
2) Neutral dropping
A540E will not shift from R to D over 15mph in reverse. btw that is how you leave black streaks on a 4c.

So true! But who would burn out anyways? I'm not roasting my $400 tires

And if your tranny is going, why in fucking hell re you slamming on the gas and trying to burnout anyways? That's stupid man. You should be babying it for every last mile you can get out of it.

What i am not talking about Droping it i am talking about power braking it....geez that will kill your tranny faster then....something thats really fast..why do you have 400 dollar tires on stock rims? lol atleast get some cool 16's or something... the stock alloys aren't the lightest rims...Not flamming on ya!

lol, neither are my supra rims (switched back to stock for the winter) but yeah, beside the point..

Im slamming on the gas to see if my car will do anything at all, lol, cause half the time it tries stalling on me if i dont...

Car-Part.com doesnt show me any 5-spds for minnesota plus its winter time, so most junk yards are closed... and 2000 is a bit over rated... 1000 max probably, cause installation costs nothing at all... so just for parts is the cost im looking for

CamryWhat?: Your from Centerville? do you know Shawn Skelton or Mike Kincaid? i know lots of people from Centerville...

if you have a tranny shipped to you it will cost 75 bucks for shipping and 250 bucks for the tranny thats 325. you fix your car for 325 or maybe + tax i dont know how it works...
they do NOT close for the winter... people still need autoparts in the winter... sometimes more (trucks) many people need repairs in the winter, many cars break in the winter... i dont think it depends on season, it depends on demand, which is always there...
