Hey guys..have not posted in a while. just wondering your success with the Sylvania Silverstars. I am using them on my gen 5 camry and i have gone through 3 sets already! i don't even drive often. the reason why i picked the silverstars over other third party brands is because it's suppose to last longer and be a better match with the car. the thing is...if i have to buy new ones every 6-8 months, i mind as well get the third party stuff.
They're great. I've yet to see one in real life that ever burned out.
I used my modded 9005's for a few months until I went HID and the SS's got swapped to the high beams last September.
Wipe the bulbs with a paper towel and atleast rubbing alchohol the LAST THING before you put them in the housing.

little bit of a mixed bunch...
does it mean that i am just "lucky" to get the ones that don't last as long?
which PIAAs are safe on the wiring harness and work with my car? 9006.
or should i just stick with silverstars?
stick with silverstars, i had PIAA bulbs before (4x the price of silverstars) and they blew much quicker... i have had the silverstars for prolly 2.5 years now and only have lost 1 bulb so far. i have lowbeam and high sets, both.
Don't touch the bulbs when you are installing, your greatly reduce the bulbs life. Use alcohol to clean the bulbs if you accidentally touch them.
If your like me and have not so slim hands to fit on the drivers headlite (cus of battery positioning), then this is what i do, i hold those the bulbs with those alchohol tissues (from the firstaid kit) and use that to mount the bulbs. Good luck, KNOCK ON WOOD, my ss's are on year two and still going strong, KNOCKS OF WOOD!
