I installed Hyper White (street legal version) headlight bulbs from Pepboys into my 03 Camry and noticed that the headlight aim is slightly off. The passenger light aims higher and I did not know if it was my error, or if the bulb was poorly constructed, causing it to appear offline.
Is it likely that my installation caused the error, or do you suppose there is already a problem with the headlight assembly causing the misalignment? By the way, I have already had Silverstars in my 03 Camry and 02 Galant but both sets burned out within 4-5 months. "Very maddening" and I did not touch the bulb or put pressure on them.
Last question, if the headlight does need adjusted for aim, should I have the dealer adjust or do it myself and how?
back the car fifteen to twenty feet from a wall, turn the lights on and wheater it is a screw or spring adjust it to the angle and height thqat you want. Simple job, don't pay someone to do it.

I installed 9006 -> 9005 (or the other way around) modded Silverstars into my Gen5's low beams and also notice a dip on the driver's side. I have been trying to find the adjustment knobs/screws/whatever, but still unable to locate them. If anybody knows where they are please let us kno.
And remember a picture is worth a thousand words.hehe
I get home to check the alignment of the bulbs, and found out when I uninstalled them that both bulbs were slightly crooked in their housing. So, I put the stock bulbs back in the car, and they are perfectly level. So, big problem solved there, but a wasted $32 on bulbs that I used for a few days. I'm guessing the store won't let me return the bulbs used. Thanks for all of the suggestions anyways. I guess I will just have to wait until Toyota offers "real" HIDs on the Camrys and just give up. I could install my own HID kit, but $$$$.
Take them back as them being faulty isn't your fault or problem and they should honor any manufacturers warantee. Especially if it says that they are iso cert. You do still have the package right?

I still have both packages (they came individually) and the receipt, so I hope they will let me return them. If they refuse to take them back, what can I say to back up my problem. They should both still work, but Pepboys doesn't know that. What do you think?
I would rather have cash back, but if they don't refund them and force an exchange, I would like to swap for a different type/brand of light bulb. Now the question is: Which bulb would best suit the car. I would opt for better light output and maybe have HID hues, but at this point, a "good quality" bulb with excellent output is my choice. As I mentioned above, I tried Silverstar Sylvania bulbs (which put out good light) but burned out on "both" of my cars within 4-5 months. So, which upgrade has the best reliability, quality, and light output? PIAAs would be nice, but they are a bit overbudget for now. Something in the $30-40 range (combined) is my limit. Any further suggestions?
Well, I broke down and got the Silverstars again. I couldn't remember any light bulbs in the past that performed as well, and tonight I installed them. However, I took some other users advice and rubbed alcohol on the bulbs to clean them before I put them in.
I hope I am not the only crazy one here that looks like a surgeon wearing gloves and keeping everything "so" clean before I do it!! Anyways, they are in and look fantastic. If only I had bought them in the first place instead of cheap Hyperwhites. The Silvers just have this sharp edge to them when you drive, its cool.
Now I want them on my Galant again. So what if they burn out, all bulbs do and I haven't found "any" that please me more than these. To questioners, you won't find any light bulbs better than these, despite some of the negative feedback on lifespan, give these a chance, (if you don't mind dropping $40), you won't be disappointed.
Oh by the way, a Porsche Cayenne nearly blinded me in the rearview mirror tonight, talk about glare!!!
