HID-Proxenon Installed (Ebay)! Will keep you updated on QUALITY

Hey everybody:

New to posting but not too new to reading the excellent content on this board...I use the search button HEAVILY!

Here is what I have to contribute. After doing a fair amount of research on this site and the yahoo group HID page(??) I recently purchased an HID kit for my 2000 camry LE. I purchased the kit from seller proxenoninc on ebay. (choice of color temp for free at auction end; ONLY sells osram, philips, and ge rebased D2s (I think) bulbs )

Here are the specifics:
9006 rebased phillips ultinon bulbs (yes, they have purple ceramic) 6000k color temp
rechiped hella ballasts (no protective covers, unfortunately)
COMPLETE wiring...they mean what they say. No cutting, 100% reversible.

The install was a snap...like they claim. I had it in in about an hour (about 30 minutes of being ultra careful) the rest was cinching everything down tight and out of the way of rotating pulleys and fans. The wiring length is more than adequate and wires are all protected with the corrugated (??) plastic sheathing...the stuff you can get in diff colors to dress an engine bay (if still confused I can explain further but I believe this is adequate). No modification was necessary.

Here is why I am writing. After doing several searches to find if anyone had pinned down a quality HID seller that wasnt sky high in price I decided I would try this company. So I took a fairly big risk by spending about $340ish (shipped) on this kit from ebay. I must admit that spending this kinda money on a kit made me more than nervous to say the least but they looked like they had their stuff together.

DO NOT go out and buy this kit based on what I REPORT right now...instead I am gonna bookmark it and keep you guys up to date on the kit, how its holding up, any problems, etc. That way somebody in the future will find some value in this thread.

Oh yeah. This company is registered with the BBB (better business bureau in CA). They (last time I checked) had one claim filed against them but had resolved the conflict.

If you have specific questions about the install go ahead and ask...I'd be glad to help. Please keep in mind I am a busy person...I'll try my best to be prompt.

Hope you guys find this HELPFUL.

Take care,

BULLMKT

Cool

Agreed, that is so illegal...

You know if you blind a semi-truck and he runs you off the road into a pine-tree and you died

I might not even care...

Damn people. Easy on the guy. I'm getting HID's too.

BullMarket make sure you're headlights are aligned properly and it is not blinding other drivers.

I am not going to engage in disresepctful comments. I view this forum and others like it as helpful and informative...NOT a playground for childish antics. I do however respect your opinions (yes the negative ones) and welcome them. To each his own. Enough said.

As for alignment...done before it hit public roads. I have a long, straight, stretch of street and drove by my brother-in-law and did adjustments until the glare was gone. I respect other drivers and their safety, as well as my own...just as I intend to be respectful of you guys on this forum.

If you can take the glare out of gen 4 & previous OEM Camry headlights, you're either some form of god, or the greatest light moder of all time.

Until then, rebased HID's into halogen, relfective headlights = and illegal. Not because you couldn't plant a tree and fix emessions... But because you could kill people directly like that...
(I am very anal retentive about rebased HID's... I turned someone in on Club-Lexus for that who did it poorly @ had a shot of their license plate still in the pic ) To me that's one less on the road.

No I'm not a hipocrit. Gen 3 ES 300 projectors have only little glare (about 1/4 the amount of a stock gen3 camry relfective headlight) with rebased 9006 bulbs. I always baked mine a part and moved my cut-off's around to make them sharper.

No...none yet. I apologize. I would like to coment that the 6000k has a little more violet/purple than I'd like to see. So if ya'll guys don't want any purple in it don't order the 6000K. I wanted a powdery blue/white...WHAT GIVES? BUT, this is the kind of thread I wanted to establish...one where questions are ANSWERED.
