Help...check Engine P0304 (1999 AVALON)

TOYOTA 1999 AVALON XL

I have my check engine light on with codes P0300, P0302, P0304.
(CYLINDER MISFIRES)

Replaced all 6 spark plugs with the DENSO double platinum plugs and still the
computer gives me P0304.

Maybe i should try the COIL? WIRES?

Does everyone knows WHICH is the Cylinder #4? What order do they go in?

I'd like to try interchanging wires between the cylinders to pinpoint the cause.

Thanks,

crave

I would try changing out the wires first. You could also check them with a digital volt/ohmeter. Take each wire off and set your DVM to a high ohm scale. Put the probes on each end of the wire and read the DVM. You should have about 7,000 ohms of resistance per each foot of the wire. Don't be surprised if you find several wires that you can't get a reading on; this means they have breaks internally and therefore you are showing an open circuit. If you have a lot of miles on the car, say 100,000 or more, and they haven't been changed, I would just change them. Wires fail a lot more often than the coil.

I would also go to autozone's web site and see if you can find out where and how to check out your coil. Again, this will require a DVM. It's not really that hard to do.

Good luck with the problem.

uhh, i think for the 1mz fe the coils and wires are one unit, its a distributorless engine and its not some cheap knockoff like a kia has, each cylinder has a coil that sits on top of eash sparkplug and in order to replace the wires you gotta replace the coils too

btw dont go with cheap coils you will end up buying new ones, ,just go with toyota coils

There are only 3 igniter coils and are all in the front (left) cylinder head bank.
