I just bought a used 99 Camry, with 80K miles on it and i am experiencing this wierd problem.
The car takes a lot of time to start up in the morning. The behavior is very unpredictable, at days it starts in 2-3 cranks and at times it could also take half an hour.
The battery seems fine and got it checked up. The engine does not even crank, if it cranks it starts up immediately. I just hear a low humming noise when i turn the key.
Any ideas will be appreciated. You can email me at thisispb@gmail.com too.
might wanna try disconnecting the negative battery lead for a bit (5-10 minutes) to reset some stuff and see if that helps, that is what we did on our volvo and it helped, might do nothing thought

If you had a dead battery, the starter wouldn't crank at all.
DO any of your internal accessories work?
Is there a 'whirring' sound when you try to start it?(Sounds like a fan)
I had the same problem for about a week b4 rebuilding my alt. and a week after. I think before rebuilding my alt it was that because it would charge sometimes and with me and my loud music all the time i guess it just drained the battery and so in the morning i didn't have enoughn juice to start right away. after i got it rebuilt i think it's because i never did let the battery fully recharge. I went a couple of days without playing any music to somehwat let the battery have a chance to fully recharge. After that i haven't had any problems. Note this is just my conclusion, don't know if it's right since i have not too much knowledge about that kinda stuff. I've heard mmany people say it's the idle air control valve (is that it?). do a search about it and see.
oh really??? thanks so much Troy...im really that stupid...i appreciate it captain obvious...i thought that was impressive that he got that much out of a 91 camry...pardon me for asking...the smart ass remark was unneccesary...by the way..i am a camry owner as well...i thought we had to "stick together"...maybe before poking fun as someone you should make sure your not telling someone something they dont already know
