battery replaced alarm going off

My kid has a 93 camry le. We came home from a trip and it would not start. It was pretty cold and had a old battery. Replaced battery. If you open the door the lights start flashing and the horn goes off. Does this for about 35 beeps and then shuts off. Lights, radio...... all work, but when you try to start nothing. There is a small red light on the left side of the steering wheel and below the dash that blinks when alarm is going off. I assume this is some kind of anti-theft system. Does not have remote entry. How do I reset it?

You probably have an alarm system that has been deactivated but not disconnected. If that red light stays lit all the time except when the alarm is flashing then that's it (Meaning that normally it is not blinking). There should be a reset switch somewhere, usually next to the drivers foot rest area on the floor or the dash. Just reset it and should be good to go. Learned that the hard way myself but that's a different story.
If you don't find the switch go to an alarm shop, usually they'll do it fo free.

Try this:

With doors all closed put your key in the drivers side door and turn to lock 1 time then turn to unlock twice. Then try to start your car. Let us know..
