This looks absolutely stupid. It's an alternator and a motor at the same time. You think that a BELT DRIVEN system (On the pulley might I add) is going to increase power to the motor? Nooo... power is derived by how fast it can suck in air and burn fuel. Trying to turn the pulley doesn't seem like a smart way to "make" power at all.

Sounds like a damn stupid idea to me. If you want enough power for an electric motor to move a car, then you need something like 220 volts, like in the Prius. That probably isn't even close.

It said it only help from 0-1500RPM. Which is possible for a short time. Just like running the starter to turn the engine. It helps reduce the heavy gas use from taking off from a stop. Then how much does the battery pack weight and will it offset the gain?

Not entirly true, what you really need is high amperage.

This is an awsome system, that really has potential. Several of the big 3 car manufacturers are developing this technology and is already starting to show up.

Not to mention it has been used in several types of racing, with success. The system is real.

Don't discount this technology, especially if you don't know what the fuck your talking about.

Pretty interesting. No comment on whether it works or not. Initially I thought this thread was about those electric superchargers.

looks like interesting technology that may be worth looking into....I agree with killacleancam that this isn't bs technology........in theory it's pretty sound, tho I haven't heard of it being used yet....... and with the high gas prices these days, it may be worth trying, depending on the price...

Eye8, it's being used on the new Lexus RX400, Honda Accord with eletric motor assist, and the Chevy Silverado LS 1500.

The main purpose of those cars with it is obviously to increase acceleration, but better fuel econmy is a by product as well.

This is the future of cars. 10 years from now all cars should have this system.

The product in question is a pile of shit.

It doesn't have the power consuption alone to do anything constructive. Just added weight to the motor.

It won't work. Turbos produce 5psi spinning at more than 100,000rpm.

There is no way in hell that think will spin fast enough to produce boost. Anyone see any oil lines?

If you want boost, go for a supercharger. Or turbo. Probably turbo.

That's right, it doensn't, that's why it comes with a super capacitor(30KW) battery(1.2KW) pack.

As for the weight: the whole system weighs about 70lbs/31kg*, but it replaces the alternator (weight anyone?)

*(battery 15lbs; scbp 55lbs)

do some research before bashing the product.

You people post without any knowledge of the product at hand.

Fisrt of all, it's not giving induction, i.e. no air is being blown into the motor.

Second, it's an electric motor that add power to the wheel, NOT the motor

Third, an electric motor can produce a SHITLOAD more torque then you think. It probly produces 100-300ft lbs .

You guys saying it's shit are uneducated on the subject so please don't add anything else to this topic, cause your just shiiting it up.
