Accellerator pedal goes too loose!!

I've got an interesting problem with my accelerator pedal.
After drving the car in hot conditions, the accelerator goes....too loose.
Normally, you can feel a little resistance on the pedal. Which is good.
But when this problem happens, although the pedal returns fine to its resting position, wen pressing it, it almost feels like theres no spring or something.
It is connected via cruise control, so i was wondering I maybe a vacuum hose had something to do with it.
It is intermittant, so it will go back to normal for a bit.
In cold weather...doesn't do it at all.

What could this be??

Also, a different problem..my accellerator gets stuck sometimes...like I'll start the car after I've been driving it and the rpm's will shoot up to 2K 2.5K and i've gotta tap it a coupla time to get it back to idle. Ideas?

check your throttle cable.. and tighten it if needed

Done that already. Cable tension is quite stiff, that is..no slack.

hmm.... i have that problem sometimes too. after a lot of heavy driving my pedal feels kinda soft, and that it's not resisting my foot too much. mabye the spring mechanism gets stretched out after being used for a while?

Thats the thing though...it returns back to normal. So im not sure if the spring could stretch and the go back to it original tension?? Weird!

*shrug* i dont know if thats scientifically correct, could the spring do that? it's the best guess i've got though
