Since i'm thinking that the 'stang gauge pod will work in my car, i now want 2 more guages. Right now i have an air/fuel ratio gauge, i definatly want a Voltmeter, but what should the 3rd one be? What would be a good one to have, thats not terribly expensive?
thanks
Hey alex, how much is it going to cost you to get the gauge pod with three gauges...
Is it hard to connext the gauges to all the right places?
I'm looking for responses from anyone who has experience with these gauges ( Henry, Ol' Crip ... ne one)
Thanks in advance
A/F gauge, as Ratko said, is pretty useless. All you see is a light going back and forth, back and forth...when you're at WOT, it shows rich. Even if you have something to tune your air/fuel ratio, that a/f gauge (autometer) still isn't good enough as the increments aren't narrow enough to give you an accurate reading. Easy to install.
The vacuum gauge isn't too bad, it's good for diagnostics of your car. Do a search on Google for vacuum gauge readings, you'll see what I mean. Even in the Haynes manual, there's a one page document on vacuum gauge readings...plus the needle is also moving so that looks cool. Easy to install.
EGT is really great but it's tres, tres expensive, like twice the price of all other gauges. I would have bought one but I can't justify paying so much for just one gauge. Harder to install as well as it needs a temp sensor in the exhaust.
I like the voltmeter but a lot of people say it's rice. It's nice to know how your battery is doing if you have a lot of stereo equipment.
