I drive a 2000 Toyota Camry LE V6. It is kind of high milage (80k - 90k), and I'm not very satisfied with the gas milage it gets. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what kind of milage I should be getting. I get about 20 m/g. I would think that I should get better than that, but I don't know a whole lot about cars...
how you drive also impacts the ability of yoru MPG's. jack rabbit starts do eat away gallons...I'd suggest also to see when your sparks, fuel filter, ignition wires were changed. All small services when not done, creep up into lost mpgs!
i'm getting about what Durrby is getting as well, i've asked a friend of mine about the problem and he said that its the oxygen sensors right off the bat....all i see is that my car (gen3) has only 1 sensor (1 wire type)....which is located in the exhaust manifold which should be quite easy to replace....so i'll probably do that and keep u updated
I don't know how it could be that little. I know it barely EVER sees the highway so that could be a little of the problem. When I went to get my 60,000 service from toyota they basically said the plugs were fine and everything was fine so it would be stupid to spend the money on the service to replace good parts, so I never go it done. Could it be that I need a new timing belt? I've heard that could be one of the factors. My Cam has 62,xxx mies one it and I think i'm the second owner (Bought it from a Toyota dealorship in Jun '02 so not sure about my cars maintainence history.) Moneys tight but I would like to change my fuel filter I guess from this thread my O2 sensor & Ignition wires. I mean it sux cause I really only use my car to get to and from work and I work like 3 miles away. I have to put in like $10 every 2 weeks. She gets around 200-220 miles a tank and like I said about 13-15 mpg. I don't really beat on my car or speed and I try to have the car shift at like 3000-3500rpms and not really ever let it get past that. Should I take it to like AutoZone and have them check for any error codes?

I get about 20mpg here as well.. 1995 V6 LE w/ 65k miles. My friend just got a 2005 Corolla and her tank [13gal] was empty after about 350 miles! I want that kind of gas mileage..

My aunt has an 01 LE-V6-5sp which I've driven constantly and IMO she gets slightly better gas mileage than my auto 4cyl... Another strange thing is that my 3.5-V6-5sp Altima gets better gas mileage than my Camry during city driving.. But city driving for me is constant traffic, 95% one way streets and a redlight every 900ft or so..

I had a 1995 V6 LE that would get 26-27 on the highway with cruise locked on at 70mph, but city traffic would get 18-19, and a mix would get me about 22-23.
I now have a 2005 I-4 and have not even burned through the first tank yet. I have really high hopes I got the 4cyl because I figured gas prices will keep going up and I keep doing more and more city driving (18 in the v6 was kiling me)
i dont know your getting 13-14 mpg but my wifes gmc with a v8 gets better mileage than that. i get about 22 in my 3.3L but thats highway driving with a lead foot
