loosing oil

Hi guys,

I know this has been discussed many times, I did a search but for my particular case, am not sure what the possiblities are.
Got a 98 4 cyl camry with 160k miles and I'm loosing about 1 Qt. of oil every oil change (I do it every 3k miles) and I reach 3k miles in 1 month period.
Now, there is no oil leak, cuz for 1 Qt every month it should be a puddle in my garage and there is not, and even under de engine bay is dry.
I took of the spark plugs and they are dry too.
So,
where is my oil going, can I burn 1 qt of oil every month without seing it on the spark plugs?
what are the possibilities?
and yes, there is a little blueish smoke when I start the the car in the morning, but just for like 10 seg.
Please need your opinions,
Thanks again

Most likely worn rings and the oil is being burned. Possible bad valve seals as well. Just keep an eye on the oil level and be thankful you dont have a state inspection to pass.

3000 a month ?? WOW !! I manage about 2000 per month on my 00 Corolla. and BTW at 98K miles it burns some oil between changes also.

It's evaporating

Just kidding.
It's just burning it .. you have a pretty loose engine @ 160K

I got 165K on mine and I don't even lose half a pint in 3K of driving.
and that includes my leaky valve cover.

CraigW is right on. The cat converter burns up most of the blow-by when it reaches operating temperature so you don't see it. You may see some blue smoke when the engine and cat are cold. You might try a different grade of oil if you don't want to do the valve job.
