Question Please help me decide between these 2 -which mod would you get next??

I've been trying to decide which one to get, the Apexi SAFC 2 or the VIS Invader CF hood

1. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT APEXI SAFC2

or

2. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...e=STRK:MEWA:IT VIS CF Invader hood

With the CF Invader hood, what do i need afterwards to make it fit? People have suggested some Sparco Hood Pins. would i need anything else besides these?

I know the SAFC2 is more a performance mod, and the CF hood is more visual mod, but it's lighter so it's a little performance mod too

If you had to choose, which would you choose and why? SAFC 2 ~ $250, w/ install and dyno tuning total ~ $500-650

CF invader hood ~ $500ish, plus (maybe) installation, $600-$700total

i dont like the hood, so i'd have to say the SAFC II...

but, you have to know how to use it, so if you dont, i'd have to say the hood..

for those who got the hood, how much a handling/performance difference did you notice? I know it weighs alot less than stock...

Saving even 30lbs on a car that weighs 3200+ won't to shit.

Cool

Hahahahaha hood perofrmance. - You'd see 0 benifit in handleing, and run the 1/4 mile roughly .1 faster.

Get the SAFC, or better yet, I'll Hijack!!! You search, you can find SMT-6's going for $275. You gotta have a laptop to tune it, and it's not pretty screen, but you get to tune about anything you want.
  • Ignition timing
  • A/F ratio from an AFM(flap), MAF, or MAP, while reading o2 sensor voltage
  • Tuning A/F via o2 sensor, IF you don't tune via an AFM, MAF or MAP
  • Speed sensor changes (if needed)
  • Has 1 output for triggering whatever you can think of
  • Reads and tunes via tempature sensor (for temperature controlled tuning woot!)
  • Triggers an extra injector on it's own (fuel, water, N2O, compressed gasses, whatever)
  • Lambda tuning

That's about all I can think of right now, but it's only limited by your understanding and imagination with the system. =)
Here are some shots of some of my maps for my v6 3vz-fe.

I use mine for A/F tuning of the AFM (corrected via temperature)
Ignition advance
Triggering my ACIS (varriable intake) VSV valve early, smoothing(and adding) out the power curve between 2500-4400rpm
Reading o2 voltage (Its not wideband, but who cares, it's fun 2 watch)

That's all I can think of right now.

The only problem you'll have is I don't know anyone that has used it on an i4 Camry, and having a completely different motor, I can't help you with your ignition timing. So you're on your own getting that part setup.

Cool

You can see the maps are 128 points multiplied by the 16 point map on the right hand side. You can set the conditions...
When tuning a 0-5v, or 0-10v application, changes are made in incraments of 19mV. Every Point you see on my fuel map is +/- 19mV.

Sorry for the hijack, just wanted to throw another option out there! I'm tired of being the only ES/Camry using the SMT. I want company LoL! Sorry for 56K also. Adobe wouldn't compress it any more and keep it readable.
