Cool Why do I even bother anymore???

What the fuck is it about a Toyota?
I swear to fucking god half the parts are SO good, and half the parts are the WORST SHIT ON EARTH.

How does a camshaft, THAT IS AN INCH OF SOLID METAL, that had a distributor in it YESTERDAY warp only on the LAST BEARING CAP OVERNIGHT, and have the keyed ends crack almost all the way fucking off WITHOUT ANYONE FUCKING TOUCHING THE CAR IN 24 HOURS!?!?!?!?

OEM Toyota parts are starting to make me fucking sick... Blah... This kind of shit never happened with my little Mazda Protege, the stock '87 1.5L Civic that won't die in the driveway(odo stopped working around 5 years ago @ 320,000m) or the Old pre-ford B2200 Mazda truck I drove...

Cool

Hell no, it was the original cams.

Everything else I WISH was aftermarket, just so the fucking shit would stop breaking and if it did I would have a warranty on, it instead of getting my ass raped by the dealer that sold me this piece of shit car.

Then sell it, and go buy something better.

You intrested? 225-230hp 3vz-fe. Exhaust is bone stock so another 10-20hp from a full exhaust+no cat is possible with tuning (if the injectors are up to it)
Audio goes with the car. HID stays with me.

Then go and my another car!!! Why put down Toyota...there one of the most durable and reliable vehicles around. Things like that happen only because of ignorance and lack of maintanence. Parts don't just 'break' for no reason.

Friction creates heat, which results in warpage.
Something is not lubing correctly in the process.

225-230HP isn't too much on the engine unless you having a lube problem.

There is nothing wrong in venting the frustration, but I would look closer at the damage while you have it in front of you; especially now since you got your frustrations out of your system.

Maybe you can find where the problem lies.

Post some pics of the damage and let's take a look at it.

Cool

toyrolla no it's not. McElligott over there is running 250hp+ on his M/T N/A, more with N2O(I forget what shot you use to run when you had the kit hooked up sean), and now has his turbo kit installed, torn down and off for cerasmic coating woot!

IMHO a 3vz-fe with accurate fuel tuning so a hole doesn't form in a piston, or in the Aluminum parts should hold 325fwhp on a m/t... More if you're lucky.
But seriously... Anyone wants the car for $7500 + 600-900 for shipping I'm tired of rebuilding it over and over again.

Besides I just met a new friend over lunch that is trying to sell his mr2 for $800.

Just a suggestion, why don't you two PM each other instead of taking up this guys entire post with your little arguments?

Is the damage just to the cam, or was the head affected as well? Also, what was the temp (how fast did the engine cool down?)

I have had lots of problems with my 5sfe because... parts had not been assembled correctly. As long as these are correctly placed, tightened and that the job was perfect you "should" not have any problem. I guess there must be a reason why this broke and the most difficult thing will obviously be to find out what ! I understand your pain especially if you have spent out lots of money to repair it... Good luck anyway !
