Search....Search.....Search!!!

Your tranny may be low on fluid. Check it's level.

no turbo unless you car is running at 110%. Yea check the fluid. Tranny normally start to mess up around 100k. but then again they are toyotas meaning they should go to aleast 150k. I have a minor question. How hard do you gun it? Because 60mph for it to switch gears is pretty high. I drive with OD on and i'm on the last gear at aboug 40mph.

well let me put it this way i step on the gas pedal hard enough for the rpm to go to 5 wen i start off and sometimes while im spinning i press it hard enough to go to 5 as well i dont really drive it that much im only 15, my mom is the one that mostly drives it i drive it with care, and try to keep it good. why do you drive on overdrive which 1 is faster with it pressed or with out it being pressed.

I know I am contradicting myself from an earlier thread...but...you really need to check your grammar. There is no punctuation in your posts and it is very hard to understand what your saying. Anyways..you shouldnt be going 60mph before it shifts the next gear..i don't even think a stock toyota 4 is capable of that!!!

I would say you're retarded.. but you're only 15 and don't know much about cars.. the SEARCH button is your friend.

Sounds to me like you're explaining you're transmission downshifting then upshifting again. It's normal for an auto transmission to downshift to a lower gear when you step hard on the gas, it will then upshift back to the higher gear after its reached the shift point.

Regarding the OD button. Your automatic transmission has 4 gears, if you drive with the OD button on, you will use all 4 gears and gas consumption, specially on the highway will be good. If you drive with the OD button off, you're only using 3 gears. Which is normally good for city driving, but most people drive with the OD button on all the time anyways.

Aha, I think I have you figured out.

Your trannie is shifting up and down when you floor it after 60 mph. Hunting, I believe is the term. You want it to go faster but it there is nothing more to go to.

Adjust your throttle cable and step down cable. Get a Haynes or Chiltons manual.
