I'm trying to talk my dad into doing the 9006 to 9005 conversion on his camry... and he just tells me "why do you want to put a high beam bulb into a low beam socket"... and i tried to explain to him very simple "to make more light"... he looked at me and was like "that is completly illegal, i dont want to get pulled over for having my brights on"... and i tried to reassure him that its perfectly legal and that the bulb wattage is very similar, and that it should be too dim, considering my mom drives a 2002 mercedes ML320 with a more powerful bulb in a projector! now people complain about her having her brights on, its her lowbeams...
How do i convince him? and where do i buy these things? fred meyer doesnt carry them, nor wal-mart, i'd try an autozone, but by the time i get time to go down there, they are closed
i have silverstars and ppl sometimes think i have my brights on aswell. although its deff worth it over stock blubs. stock blubs= i didnt even have to tlk my dad into getting them cuz i was payin for em lol.
I just installed my silverstars a couple days ago. They look great. One of my friends kept telling me it was illegal! I had a hard time convincing him it wasn't.

well.. i can almost talk my dad into buying anything as long as its legal... how are just the regular 9006 silverstars?
I have a set of 9006 for low beams, they are quite nice.....if u want nice looking bright white lights, adjust the vertical position on the headlight to a higher setting, this way it shoots farther and looks alot brighter from far away, just dont over do the angles, or you might blind some one
Because the brightness of the bulb doesn't cause glaring problems. The housing causes glaring problems.
Glare is concentrated light. It's no BRIGHTER than anything else, it's just light concentrated in the wrong place.
If you aim your headlights as you should, there is no problem.

Silverstars suck. "White"r light makes more glare. Green and yellow light make less. So get green tinted headlights . Just buy some regular 9005s and mod them to fit your low beams.

I have a pair of 9005's (9005---->9006 Conversion) as my low beams and I am completely satisfied with the output of the bulbs and the price of them. Here are a few pics:

yeah i agree. just mod the 9005 silverstars into the 9006 slot. and no one will give you problems. i did mine 2 months ago and no one flashed me for having "too bright lights." when it's really dark out, you will definitely notice a difference-the light is much whiter.
walmart should carry it...if not, check ebay. it's cheaper too there
