I've just gotten a new Bosch O2 sensor for my Camry (for exhaust header), I was wondering if it is ok to run the car without the old sensor for like a day or so until the new one is installed....
One, you'll be venting tons of exhaust out the hole if it's unplugged.
Two, the car will more than likely throw itself into limp mode and run open-loop. Poor performance, and extremely high fuel consumption will more than likely result.

Well i've heard that if there isnt an O2 sensor it'll go with default fuel/air ratio, so i just wanna see if changing or running without one would help my MPG
Dude, no o2 sensor is not a good idea, why do you think there is one in there? For looks?
Your car, but why not take the old one out and put the new one in right after you remove it?
Plus your forgetting one MAJOR THING. With no o2 sensor your gonna have exhaust pouring into your engine bay, hope you liek to smell exhaust, cause you'll be smelling pleanty.

The ECU uses the O2 sensor to determine and adjust the a/f ratio.
Without the O2 sensor the ECU will go into limp mode like mentioned above. You'll get worst gas milage without it.
Just remove the old one and install your new one. Its not that complicated.
i noticed that newer model Camry's dont have the Exhaust O2 Sensor... why is this and is it okay for me to be running w/o one... right now im pretty much running great without an exhaust system at all
