Springs or shocks?

As everyone knows, the stock 96 camry's springs and shocks and whatever else sag and almost drives like a cadilac.... what would be better to replace? OEM springs or tokico shocks? i dont like lowering springs or eibach... i heard just going with OEM springs, tokico shocks and TRD sway bars/strut bars is much much better than getting stiff lowering springs... is that true?

i heard that if you change the struts, you should change the springs too. (anyone can correct me if i'm wrong.)

just curious, why don't you like lowerring springs or eibach? i have eibach, tokico struts, rear sway bar (whiteline), and front engine strut bar/brace and i love the handling

much better in what respect?

Lowering springs give you a lower (better) center of gravity, along with usually being a bit stiffer than stock springs. You combine this with the fact that you're going to get performance struts, the increase in handling will be considerable in comparison to just going with stock springs and tokico struts.

If you really don't want the lowered look, there's quite a few companies out there that offer springs that don't have a huge drop. I believe the H&R's are like 1" front and back. It's small enough that you likely won't really notice it much, it might even take away a little from the Camry's 4x4 ride height.

^i heard that OEM springs and AM struts provide a better handling???...but, H&R's are what i would pick cus they are good for performance and are only a 1.25" drop (noticable, but doesnt give up too much handling)

1.25 doesn't seem like a lot, but i bet it will look a lot different. But that would probably be the way to go....If your shocks aren't farely new, you might as well replace them when ur under there.

Wrong

Other way around. If you put new springs on you should get new struts as well. Assuming the new springs are lowering springs of course.

^it tends to save time if you put them on together instead of putting one on, and then later deciding to put another on

If you only did one, Tokicos.
Straight up, your shocks probably have been dead a while.
But why not do the springs?Better rates.
Eibachs don't slam your car. They make it handle better.
I wanted it lower so I went with H&Rs and frankly speaking, you got to be looking to call it lowered. Eibach's drop was even less noticable.
If you can see the difference in an inch with a total of three feet, you got a good eye.
Only tell tale sign is the tires in the wheelwells.
My neighbours stock camry looks lower than my car. Thats cause his springs have sagged and he pumps air in the tires when the metal hits the road.
But the choice is yours...

Yet how come the camry bottoms out even when its higher than the lowered ones? i'm talking about real life, and the area i live in, every time i enter into a sidewalk, someones driveway or a business parking lot, i always screech myself when i go over the bump, and alot of the time, not even depending on how fast i go, i bottom out... and i'm not that heavey of a person.

tighter struts and the stiffer springs should help to eliminate that problem (even though it is lower)
