Hi,
I asked many people about the tire size for comforts and they recommended 225/55/16 and
215/55/16.
What would the rim size be? 16 x ?? and what
is the best place to get rims in Toronto area?
I am just wondering what difference 215 and 225 can make..

Thank you.

Who's the retard that said 225 fits 16"???

Once again, 225 is not the appropriate size for 16"s AT ALL.

I said it before and I'll say it again, LEARN ABOUT TIRE SIZES. Did you not learn your lesson to get educated and do research after being raped by BC Auto????

None of the sizes are the right spec. Also, the width has very little to do with comfort - its the sidewall height. The only thing that tire width remotely contribute to, in terms or comfort, is road noise. If you are so concerned about comfort, why did you lower your car and buy rims??? You bought 18" rims and thought the ride was too rough - that is the natural consequence with replacing sidewall with rim. You've been trying to sell your rims for months and no one wants to buy them. What are you objectives in modifying your car??? Just save your money and leave the car stock. You can certainly do without the aggrevation you are going through. Toyota already caliberated everything for comfort. So just leave it! Also, putting 215 or 225 on your stock 16s isn't the greatest idea since they are narrow to begin with.

Your actions just leave me totally dumbfounded. Whatever...

Hmm,
It doesn't matter what the wheel size is.. The width of the wheel is what really matters(Obviously)... If you can get 16 X 8, you can even put 245 on it... Of course anything out of factory recommandation will mess up the speedometer, and it might wear out the tire quicker.

My friend had 275 45 ZR 17 on his stock Mustang wheel, which measures 17 X 8.

215 or 225... It's not going to effect anything too much.. it's only 1cm wider..
Just buy whatever you want.

Width does play another big factor. It's even more important to understand what "fits" and what "fits properly" when it comes to cars.

But you're talking about a mustang, which can fit a lot of wider tires that won't fit on a camry.

Believe it or not, 1cm can make a difference.

isn't it hard to say if 225 won't fit if he also asked what WIDTH rim he should get? we could say "well, 225 would only fit properly if your rim width was 7.5" - 8", beyond that you'll probably get some rubbing, either strut or fender (maybe with 8" too)"

search around the internet for a Tire Calculator (i forgot the real name), it will tell you what size of tire you should get so ur speedometer won't be off if you change to different sizes.

Wider tires(225's) would make the car look better. But as someone already mentioned, you will need a wider rim (7.5-8&quot. The rim size (16", 17", 18&quot doesn't really matter with the 225 or 215 issue. You will have to use one of the online tire calculators to find out the exact measurements you'll require.

I'm new here, so I dunno what'll cause rubbing, but I know that i wouldn't think about touching anything with the suspension on this car because its just amazing, i woudln't want to mess it up.
