V6 Y-back Exhaust System Interest

Im interested in seeing who would like a custom designed Y pipe made...i am going to be going to D&T today and after the new years to sort it out. D&T have had extensive work with FWD V6 applications so they know what theyre doing.

there is minimal mods required to fit the 1mz... just need to change the length as 1mz headers are a tad longer (or shorter.. i doubt that toyota would go backwards so i bet theyre longer). any exhaust shop could cut and re weld the flange.

The y-pipe on the V6 Camrys are slightly different each year. Yes, even the 1MZs y-pipe are not the same each year.

What would you consider a good Y-pipe? My custom ones just accepts the two pipes from the headers and combines it into 1. Simple. What are the stock Toyota ones like and why are the inferior?

Stainless steel mandrel bent, which the stock one is like totally not. And a good Y-joint - ie. not two pipes crushed into one!

the stock toyota one on the 3vz/1mz keep the rear bank pipe tuned length.. so it loops to the front then intersects the front bank pipe at a T angle.... gg flow.

i never realised it would be so cheap.. everyone just go to a decent exhaust shop and get it made up from scratch. ive been quoted $400AUD in stainless, itll be way cheaper if its in mild. that includes cut and weld of the old flanges, new flex, and fitting.

liverpool exhausts in sydney make headers for the 3vz, now D&T adelaide will have a proper y-pipe... all lazy ppl in australia it seems. we cant do it ourselves so we get someone else to do it :P

my cars getting done mid january. complete 2.5" hi flow cat, resonator, and a clean not rice muffler, painted back to look stock

they are flat... and they do a loop back at a point, its really wierd... just dont look at all efficient, it still takes the two into one, its just restrictive and curved odd

FYI shipping a 1.5m^3 palette of stuff from Aust to say Ohio will cost you roughly $370AUD all up. this was the quote i got when enquiring about shipping the 3vzfe headers from Liverpool exhausts over. if you can get enough people then maybe, you can justify the costs, else ring around and see what people reccommend in terms of exhausts shops that will do custom work.

Cheers
