Unhappy Can't get cover off 3rd brake light

I need to replace the 3rd brake light on my 95 camry, but can't get the plastic cover off. I tried prying under it with a screwdriver, but no luck. Any ideas or do you know the secret to get it to pop off? The owner's manual makes it look so easy, but it's far from that. The technician at Walmart couldn't get it off either.

it should be pretty easy to take off....

anyway, hold the cover with two hands and push it backwards (towards the back of the car). Hopefully that should unhook the clips holding the cover on, then you should be able to lift it up

Have you looked under that 3rd brake light from the trunk? Not sure about your generation, but on 4th gen Camry's you remove the cover by squeezing the plastic mount clips from the trunk.

Bluesabre is correct. I have both a generation 3 and a generation 4 Camry and I have found it best on both cars to go from inside the trunk and loosen the clips from there. It then comes off easy.

By the way, the replacement bulb is a 921.

It's a pain in the but in a gen2. There are these flimsy plastic clips that hold on the cover. I brake one every time I remove that damn cover

Well, I pry it off with a screwdriver. There are 2 good spots, about 3/4 inch from each side. Just stick the screwdriver about 2 inches in and pry it up. Usually takes about 5 seconds.

Terrynham is correct. Just pushed the cover back toward the window before lifting up and out and it came right off. Thanks for all the help!
