somethings wrong but im not quite sure

Hey everyone, ive got an auto 93 le i4 with 97k and for about the past 5 months my car has been acting mighty strange. Ill be driving and everything will be fine but then i feel the car kinda jerking a little. Then when I lay off the gas the rpms drop to 0 and bounce between 0 and 600. Then the car just shuts off if I don’t rev the engine to at least 1200 rpm. i think it could be the fuel system/ tranny/ messed up sensor/ electrical prob. and the damn check engine light hasn’t come on ever. Any ideas where to start? Im still learning about cars and how they work and this has confused the hell out of me.

Since its a 3rd gen, I had a problem similar to that. It could be the engine coolant Temperature sensor being faulty if it keeps shutting off. Either that or the Idle Speed Control Valve. Look into those two things, maybe you will find out the problem there.

thanks, but unfortunitly about an hour later i was driving on the highway and i heard a very load groan come from the around the tranny i think. then about a second later i heard a bang and then my car died. so the darkstar has faded and burntout. i just got a custom paint job, new all season tires and a full tank of gas. so ill probably have another post up soon if anyone is intrested in 4 barely used sumitomo htr4
i just got theses tires like 2 weeks ago, so they are basically brand new. ill also post some pics if anyone wants some body panels or intrior pieces/panels.

You can check your battery and your alternator the car might not be getting enough power i had the same problem with a 96 altima that i use to have i change the battery and the alternator and eveything was good after that but you should always take the car to a shop to check it out before you do anything
