guys check it out- i just finished my CAI  am i the first manual 3vz to have one?? anyway, down to business..

pipe bending is done with sealed pieces of pvc. then the rest is aluminized stainless steel. i took it for a 5 minute floor fest to test it out, and when i get back it is only slightly warm!!! it is like 97 here so i am really happy!

it sounds sick, and i also got all my low end torque back- thank god.

jon

Dang, I just replied to your post on where to buy all the materials...glad to hear it all worked out!

What's this sealed PVC? Is it 90 degree bent? Did it fit in the hole with ease? What's aluminized stainless steel?

Post pics please!

i will have pics soon, but as for the pvc, it is a 45 and a 90 with the lips cut off, then sealed together. its mandrel bent, so its good for me  the pipe is very similar to stainless, and doesnt conduct very well and keeps the air cool

the sound is what got me, my car sounds like a friggin beast. i will have to tape it or something and post it..

Looks great man! Good work!

My only suggestion is to raise it up a bit...mine was sitting pretty low as well and it got dirty really, really fast! Your purdy white filter won't stand a chance after a week of driving, especially being so close to the air dam opening.

Not too shabby

How many PVC joints are there? What kind of filter is that?

thanks guys!

i have another pvc joint that can raise it up another 2-3 inches, but already there are 3 peices. i kept them together by taking metal strapping, and bolting it onto the sides. i them sealed everything with plumbers "goop" and it works pretty well.

i started up my car and floored it out of my driveway saying "oh sh*t!!"

Call up some performance exhaust shops. They should have some that they can sell to you.
