Cool, so Anish...the factory service manual worked! Thanks a lot! I just did it this afternoon, took about 30 seconds to reset it, nothing too hard.
Gibson posted the instructions on Camryman for the 95-96, the instructions are different for the 92-94. I think I have them saved on my HD if anyone needs them.
Sooooooo, I'll be having an airbag resetting workshop at 5pm today. The stereo install workshop as requested by Phi will follow at 6pm. Drinks and refreshments are included!
After the meet, me and Dickson were swapping audio components. The results were surprising. My subs running off Dicksons amp was TOTALLY different (better).
I think I need a bigger amp.

Ha ha, no no, that would be funny. But we CAN arrange something like that later on. Resetting the airbag light is easy, I can do that for you. As for the stereo stuff, it looks like you have that all under control. I really don't know anything about amps, subs, speakers but I do know how to hook them up, that's about it!
What are the specs of your amp and sub?
We should really have a stereo section in the forum!
Sub Specs: http://www.jbl.com/car/product.asp?prod=GT1241&ser=GTS&cat=SUB
I wanna hear the full potential of the subs. After hearing the differnce Dickson's amp makes.. If I do decide to upgrade the amp, do I need to upgrade the power wire to? I think I have 8 or 4 gauge now (which ever is smaller)

Congrats man. I might give you a call sometime or just meet up with you when I come down again. Are you sure however that your airbag does work... and not just that the light's off... (or for our cars is it guaranteed that the airbag will work as long as the light is not on)

The 8 guage is smaller (thinner) than the 4 guage. You don't need to upgrade to a 4 guage if it's just for one amp. So power from the battery isn't an issue...however, your amp is! It's only 160 watts RMS which is quite weak for a 300 watt RMS sub. Quite honestly, I'm surprised the guy sold you that combo. You can definitely get some bass outta the sub but it's not going to push that hard. Whereas Dickson's amp is a lot higher in wattage, of course it's going to push your sub harder.
Your amp is kinda weird...it's only 2 x 40 watts at 4 ohms and 2 x 80 watts at 2 ohms! But it's 160 watts at 4 ohms bridged. Hmmm, I've never heard of an amp getting 4 times the power when bridged.... So basically you're only giving the sub half of the power it can really handle.
As for my subs, each one is 150 watts RMS and each channel puts out 75 watts only or 150 watts bridged. Pretty similar to your amp...but you saw how hard it pushes...it can go harder with a better amp.... i'm only giving my subs half the wattage as well but they're a lot smaller and weaker so the sound is more pronounced....
So...get a new amp if you want to maximize your JBL...it'll punch hard...something that's made to push a sub...like a mono amp. As for the old amp, since it doubles the power at 2 ohms, you can hook up all four of your speakers to it to bring the resistance to 2 ohms. Or you can give it to me.

Honestly, I'm about 80% sure that the airbag does work properly. Since I triggered the light to come on by leaving my key in the dash, I know there's nothing wrong with the airbag. By resetting the code, it should delete all the malfunction codes and activate the airbag again. If the light is not on, there's still no guarantee that the airbag works properly...I mean, something as simple as the connection to the bulb could be dead but I don't think we have to worry about that. I hate to say this but I'm willing to risk it...I'm almost positive that the airbag works fine.
Thanks for the info Hen  I'm gonna look into it further.
I would give you my old amp, but I don't think you have any more "real estate" on the back of your seat
I'll get in touch with PureImport. I remember reading a post of his, and he mentioned selling something - Don't remember. Nothing in Buy/Sell sect.

Anybody got a 1500W RMS amp lying around? My 1000W amp isn't big enough to power my 750W RMS x 2 subs.
Pretty scary! The guy who did the initial install for me was coming out of the shop shaking his head saying... too much power man, and the scary thing is that the subs are being limited by the amp... when usually it is the other way around! I can get 500W RMS more out of those babies! haha
I am seriously considering dynamat. I found this product that is supposedly comparable to Dynamat Xtreme, but it only goes for &69 US for 50 sq. ft. The guy who's selling it seems very honest and after talking to him and asking my annoyingly probing questions as I always do, he seems very helpful and polite. I am willing to give it a shot but I will not need all of that 50 sq. ft.

Hey Chris, welcome to the forum! Check back often. Henry aka Silver Streak has the same year as you, and I'm sure that he's a nice enough guy to help you out.
