Angry Got ripped off on ebay!! Never got Apexi S-AFC2!!

as you may see on my sig below...i was awaiting an Apexi S-AFC 2 for my gen 4.5 camry. I ordered it brand new off ebay for $225 plus $15 s/h. The guy only had 15 stars and 1 or 2 negative stars, but didn't think much of it.

I emailed him alot but he only replied to one of my emails, saying he will ship it and I'll get it in 1 week (This was back in 12/15/04).

around 12/24/04 i finally got an email from USPS for a tracking number. so i was like...cool, finally shipping it...

so waited patiently, and now on 1/1/04 never got it, so went back to track the package and USPS.com STILL said they are awaiting the seller to give them the package!!! WTF!!!

SO i checked my ebay auction again and the guy has gotten 4 more!!! negative feedbacks from people saying they've never gotten their item! DAMN!!! I tried to email the guy, but he is NO LONGER AN EBAY REGISTERED USER!

Good thing I paid w/ credit card and paid through Paypal. SO i filed a formal complaint to get my money back. hopefully i'll get the $240 back.

i'm so pissed. I've bought/sold stuff on ebay over 100 times, and I've NEVER had any problems before, till now. This a**hole just took my money, and alot of others, and ran away with it. I have his name and address, but he lives in Florida.

I really hope after paypal/ebay's investigation (which might take 1month) i'll get all my money back. some people are such slimeballs. I don't think these people deserve to be called a human being imo. they are lower than dirt.

i feel bad for a guy who bought a $300 digital camera from this guy, and never received it. and he paid w/ a MONEY order!!! his reasoning...didn't know how to use paypal. poor guy

sorry for the rant...i'm just so mad that people are like this out in the world. Now I have to wait to see if i get my money back before I can even CONSIDER buying another SAFC.

That really sucks big time. Something bad will happen to that guy. I hope I never have to go through something like that on ebay. Good luck on getting the money back. Tell us how it goes.

Why does it seem like a good number of eBay complaints I hear about are regarding sellers in Florida? Is it just me?

thanks i'll keep y'all posted. if paypal doesn't give me the money back (i'm pretty sure they will), i'll just call my credit card company directly and cancel that transaction. but it makes me mad, bec by that time the a**hole already spent the money. so the credit card people probably ends up paying for the money somehow

no it's not just you. the guy was in Miami, FL. maybe there is a scam/ring or something down there?

The only way way to pay. I wouldn't trust anything else.

Actually any credit card offers protection.
It is inconvenient to file a claim but you do get a full refund.
Paypal is okay, I have not dealt with them other than paying.
Also if you are under a certain $$$ amount, Ebay does offer some cash back.

Why would you get mad that the credit card company has to pay. Those fuckers make so much money each year.

Say you made every payment for 40 years and suddenly you missed one payment, they still jack your intrest rate up to like 20%. Not really the best ppl to feel sorry for.
I watched a show or something saying the Credit Co. has jacked rates up for familys who are unemployed at the moment and has to file for bankrupcy because of the high intrest.

Man, thats sucks, good thing you used PayPal. I really hate Ebay, people always advertise their product horribly and I was hardly ever satifsfied with what I got. I used it like 10 times and only twice was I satisfied.
I'd keep away from Ebay, unless thats your last resort

That's why you look at the product before just buying something. It's stupid to just trust anyone on there.

Exactly! If their advertising is incorrect and/or sloppy, chances are you won't be satisfied as you have learned. I regularly buy and sell on eBay without a problem and it's gotten me quite a bit of good deals. I bought my clear corners, clear bumper lights, SilverStars and soon an intake.. I'm paying A LOT less than retail even including the outrageous shipping costs.

BTW, I did buy something from eBay ($30 including shipping) and the seller was very vague as to when my item was shipped and started getting negative feedback. After waiting three weeks I filed a complaint with PayPal. The guy refunded my money saying I "should have communicated more" - I guess 10 emails over two weeks wasn't enough. The joke is on him because the next week I got the item! He sent it Parcel Post which takes forever, and didn't put any type of insurance or tracking on the package. Needless to say, I kept it. If he hadn't been such a jerk I would have sent the money back to him.

how long did it take paypal to investigate before you got the money back? i know the seller in your case gave you the money back..but still curious (i doubt my seller will refund my money like that.)

yeah i've bought/sold alot on ebay before w/ no problems. car-wise, got eibach spring, tokico struts, trd body kit, front strut brace, and some interior accessories all new on ebay, and never had a problem. sold alot too on ebay...dvds, videogames, books, etc. no problems.

it takes just one bad transaction to make you "hate" ebay.

When I done it, it took 2 weeks, but then there was a "fee" I had to pay. The item I bought was $120 shipped, I ended up getting $80 back, but luckily, the guy gave me the extra $40 (which was not part of the PayPal refund). I had to waste $40 shipping it back too

Cool

Just be sure you guys file complaints with eBay. They're slow because of the amount of complaints they get, but eventually they do get to every one of them.

They've done a commendable job the last year sifting through them and banning people IMHO. Unfortunately, it just takes forever for them to get to you!

If the deals look too good to be true, it usually is.

I thought our vendor wiredspeed.com is selling them $280 shipped? I would've bought it from them even for a few extra dollars as a peace of mind.
