*PICS* dash/rear lights problem *PICS*

yeah there's not really pics here, hope i dont dissapoint too many of you guys here..sorry, i just thought more people would look at the thread (which inturn might make someone who knows what's wrong help me out)...hmm maybe i should of put *WW* instead

anyway..my problem is that my dash lights have stopped working (which really sucks for night driving, cause i cant see how fast im going ) and also my gear selecter lights stopped working, this really sucks, and i dont know why thye just all of a sudden stop working, they worked fine yesterday?.?.

also usually when i unlock/lock my doors with my remote starter my tail-lights will blink twice, but that stopped working also, im only assuming that both these problems go hand in hand, cause they appeared at the same time, does anyone know what my problem may be???

thanks, sorry about the pics thingy

The dash lights work off of the taillights circuit. ( I would bet you dont have front marker, tailights or licence plate lights either ?)

Of course the most obvious is to check the fuses. (several fuse boxes inside car and under hood) Also is anything else NOT working ?

Is this a 95 Camry we are talking about ??

I had a similar problem. after I blew my fuses for my tails and dash lights, my lights also stopped blinking when I arm/disarm my alarm. anyone has any idea about this.

There is a link to the 94 Camry that has wiring info. I DO NOT KNOW if they are similar models, But it may be of help to you in troubleshooting.

i went and checked my fuses and sure enough the dash fuse was out, so i went to the auto parts store to get another one, and right as soon as i put the new fuse in and then turned my lights on to see if it fixed the problem the fuses shocked and then went out , i didnt want to get another one to see if it would do it again, cause apperantly i got an electrical short of somekind, so i didnt want to risk hurting something else.....anyone got any ideas? i'll probably have to take it into a shop to have them look at it

thanks for all your guy's help

Have you done any recent wiring changes or added any items. (new stereo?)?

I here that there can be problems with the wiring where the trunk lid raises and lowers.

btw is it the jarring and pounding of the speakers that does this? or is it electronical?

thanks

I got a coupla bucks that says the dashlight wire from the OE harness is shorting out somehow....against the inner dash or another wire...i use hot glue on the tips of my unused wires...or if i cant find my glue gun(most often) i just melt the jacket a bit with my zippo and smooge it over to "seal the ends"

smooge IS a technichal term

yea im sure it's an electrical short of some sort.

are you talking about wires from my cd player that was installed? cause if there were any wires left over from that then they got tapped...so i dont think it's that.

anyone else have any suggestions for me and my cam....
