Hey guys, I got my own filter but I’m having some problems….
I took off the old stock air filter and I have my new one. It’s a cone one, its just like the one Henry used for his CAI
I'm trying to get my set up looking like this:
http://www.henrylee.ca/camry/engine/engine1.jpg
but I don’t have the pieces to connect the other side of the filter to the old stock opening thing… do you guys, know what I mean?
Would it be okay if I did not hook it up like that and just left the filter as is?
Anyway, Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

If you have an AFM, you need an adaptor plate.

Nope, that's exactly how it's gonna be on a hot day like this. I'd expect you to lose some low end and maybe a bit on the high end.

You have to be in the upper RPM range (over 4000) to be able to hear it...it should sound different.

What brand filter did you buy?

Exactly where did you gte your 3" piping?
I asked at a local home depot and they said they didnt carry that big pipe?
I may have asked for the wrong type of type... but which did you use exactly?

But for now, I didnt continue the air flow from the filter to the stock opening... i just let it end at the end of the air filter... so i should loose some power right?
What the difference between low end and high end power?

lankan- i just made my CAI and i was coming from the setup you have now. it is a huuuge difference. my car doesnt choke everytime i slam it into the next gear, just keeps pulling- i love it.

even with my old engine setup, it really starts to scream at 5800+ RPM. at about 3800 it kinda growls, but now with the CAI its mean all over the place

I'm trying to make a somewhat cold air intake, but I cant get it all the way down the side, but I'm gettin it pretty close. What kind of pipeing did you use... it does not look like SS pipe (the one Henry used)

I used 2.5" OD mild steel tubing.
