Can anyone tell me what all of the codes mean in my sig. (Which is my Vehicle ID Plate)
Just wanna know what all the codes mean, or where I can find a listing.
Stuff like:
What the R means after VZV21 in the model. And what the UEPGKQ means after that.
What are the color respresented by 167 and YX81.
A540E is the tranny, what is the axle that 872 refers to.
And where was my car built? A42?
Also.. I've nutted my car's build date down to between June 1 and July 31 1988. Is there a way to find the exact day? Like a date/time stamp? Something in the code?
Thanx.

Your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) is a combination of 17 letters and numbers, the VIN System Identification is the following:
1st digit - world source
2nd digit - manufacturer
3rd digit – type of vehicle
4th digit – body/drive type
5th digit - engine
6th digit - series
7th digit – restraint system/grade
8th digit – car line
9th digit - internal use
10th digit - model year
11th digit - plant code
The last six digits - serial number of the vehicle

It doesn't apply because he's telling you how to decode your VIN, which is not what you're asking for.
You want the definitions of the model number, frame number ect. I thought I had a book that listed general Toyota codes, but I am wrong.

Thankyou Toysrme!
Canada ai! What does that mean...my car was headed for Canada, RHD and ended up in Aus?
If my car wasnt built here, why does it have the 2VZ engine. I thought no 2VZ's were made in JP. Only 1VZ.

FYI to all, he found the model link on his own through google before i posted!
From the reasearch I did on mine when I bought it, and what I just tried to find for you online, IMHO it would be 100% speculation to say which plant built the car, motor, transmission ect. The information is easy to find for '02 and later models, but I havn't seen any date for previous years. A lot changes in a decade ya know!
AFA the R, if it were Left hand drive it would be L. Your guess is as good as mine. In the US market for trucks/SUV's, an O at the end meant it was destined for the Canadian market. Should hold true for the rest of Toyota cars.
I correct myself. The picture shows a Q isntead of a O. Q designates Australian market car.
2vz's were not sold on japanese/asian market vehicles. AUS market cars are equivilant to USDM/NA (non CA. Emessions). The recieved 2VZ-FE's instead of the VZ-FE, and later 4VZ-FE blocks(vista/camry), while the rest of us recieved superior 2VZ-FE's & 3VZ-FE's for our cars.
*edit correction*
