Question Spark Plugs...How on earth!

I own a 1992 Toyota Camry wagon with a V6 that needs the plugs and wires replaced. Is this as complicated as it looks?? I assume the intake manifolds needs to come off, but, if there's an easier way...I'm all ears.

Also, will I need a special plug socket to get at the plugs? Doesn't seem like there is very much room to fit a socket in there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks,

Ryan

I have done it without removing intake manifold and its a pain.
So have quite a few other people who have posted here.
I will do it again 'cause I need the money for other stuff.
Do a search for spark plug changing in a V6. Its all here.

Cool

You can get them with a flexi shaft extentions, and or assorted angle drives.
It's best to just take the entire upper intake chamber off.
It takes about an hour of working slowly to get the upper intake air chamber off the first time. Once you've done it a few times you can have it off in 20min.

While you have the upper intake chamber off clean it. It will be so dirty you'll be loosing 5-10hp anyways. Instructions here.

Then is the perfect time to go ahead and do some maintinance. Pull the PCV valve out of the rear head and replace it. ($3-$5 USD part) Check the rear valve covers for leaking($10 a gasket) With the chamber off, it takes 5 min to take the valve cover off and change it out.(The front one you can do anytime)

It's a great time to block off the EGR valve, to kep that exhaust crap from loading your intake back up. Here is something new that I just did before christmass. Better than simply cutting some sheet metal and blocking it off. I suggest taking the entire EGR pipe OFF, running down to a nut's and bolts store and having them find you a cap you can screw on it!!! This way you're insured of never leaking exhaust.
(You can also unplug the vacuum hoses that control the EGR and plug them.)

Hell since you'r down there check the timing, hydrolic, and alternator belts. Perfect time to change them also.
