Your Choice on Cost Effectiveness on Engines

Just wondering for myself and others out there who might want to know...

1)what are your opinions on the different types of engines and the cost of swapping one in?
2)What might the prices be between an automatic vs manual engine swap?
3)Is it worth doing a auto or manual swap?
4)Last but not least, if you had the money, what would you do?

My replies:
1) Personally, i don't know all the engines out there, but I do know i could possibly swap out for a 1mzfe, 3mzfe, 3sge, 3sgte, maybe a 3vz (correct if i'm wrong)
2) Not exactly sure of price, but I have 1mz ready for swap and I'm guessing around $3K-$4K for the entire swap
3)Personally would do manual, but due to parents and g/f, gotta go with auto (might still want manual )
4)Take the 1mz i have, bore it out. Put in custom forged pistons, rods, and other possible internal parts. Convert the engine to have a camshaft and make the car 4wd with dual turbo chargers.

Cool

Money talks.

If you got the $10 grand to do all of that do it.

Wow, if you have $10k and do all the labor yourself, maybe, otherwise that will cost you $20k-$30k to have done.

hmmm convert enhine to have camshaft?! also making a twin turbo set up would be torture as tehres no engine bay room...so would the 4wd conversion...

i know i went a little over an beyond. These are just dreams i have when i sleep and things i wish i could do if i had the money.

But realistically speaking, without the whole 4wd conversion, how much money difference is there in an auto or manual swap?

Cool

.5-1 second, depending on how you drive.
Build your A/T and it will be even or faster in a straight line.

yup, auto looses around 20hp over the manual (whos got the v6 with the conversion again?), but you dont have teh hassles of shifting...every shift works eveyr time in an auto, great for the straight line

you have a 1mz -- supercharge

I want Formula Atlantic 4A-GE.
Realisticly, I'm working on NA 5S-FE with P&P, cam and maybe high CR piston.
Realisticly don't need lots of HP on the street.
