Vacuum Guage line location

What is the best location on my 2VZ to hookup my vacuum guage? I've had it where it is now for a while..just wondering if it's the "correct" position.

It is connected inline with a hose that goes to the side of the manifold. You can see the white tee adaptor.

(I used to have 2 guages on the one line, so thats why theres 2 tee pieces on that one line, one of which is now plugged with a screw.)

Cool

Picture is too fuzzy.

Are you wanting to perminantly check vacuum, or just right now? If you want a quick check, or just curious you can literally use any rubber hose that plugs directly onto the upper air intake, the PCV or brake booster lines if it's a big connection.

There are 3 or 4 lines on the throttle body that can be checked also, but they are used to swithc things (ie 0 vacuum at until 3000rpm, full vacuum until 300rpm ect)

Yeah this is for a vacuum guage for inside the car. As you can sortof see, it's connected to one of the manifold hoses thats runs from the side of it. Just wanted to know of any other places it could possibly go for a more accurate response or not to diminish the cars performance in any way.

It doesntmatter which line you use, just how close you tap it into the intake manifold. youll get an accurate reading regardless though.

Cool

Yeah that location is fine.

So long as you don't use one of the TB one's used for activating vacuums tuff you'll be OK.

Cool

Any hose or opening sucking air into the engine is a vacuum point.

That breather hose can be used to measure vacuum.

That would be ported vacuum, wouldn't you want manifold vacuum? Or does it really matter to you?

Go to your local auto parts store and get a T connector for whatever size you want along with enough vacuum line to run to your gauge. BTW, What do yall want a vacuum gauge for? Just sometihng to look pretty?

NA BOV??? hahahaha

Anyways...that point your circled is the breather hose. I wouldn't use that. You get oil vapour thru there and it may clog your guage over time.

Find a manifold vacuum point. Where i circled is this point on my 2VZ.
Looking at your picture, this is a 3VZ?? I'm not too familiar with orientation or specifc locations, perhaps someone can shed some light.

Any hose connected to the intake manifold after the throttle body.

Just pick a hose, splice into it with a vacuum hose T, and hookup your gauge.

Its not that complicated.

Cool

^ no. Our distributor is in the same location yours is. Right hand intake camshaft. The intake hose itself is also nearly the same.

He's got a Trueno AE111 blacktop.

It's one of the smaller I4's but I don't know which.(and E or A or whatever)

^ It's not a problem to check vacuum from a breather line... The oil is sucked into the intake, not blown out into the vac gauge You'll get the same reading from a brake booster line, PCV/breather line or a normal vacuum line.
Just make sure that if you take a normal vacuum line, it's not switched. Some dmigiht not have any vacuum until XXX rpm, XXX throttle, or XXX rpm @ XXX throttle.
