Fuse blows when brake pedal depressed

Hi all.
My son has a 1985 Camry. Just recently he noticed he had no brake lights. He changed the fuse and inspected the bulbs and everything appeared ok. But when he steps on the brakes the fuse blows. All the other lights work fine. Any ideas? I'm not very good with cars and any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

sounds like a wiring short, any electrical work done lately?
Remove the bulbs in the tailight and repeat. If it still pops a fuse, its wire or switch.
Thats the best way to chase electrical, keep isolating until you are at component level.

Is it grounded properly? Are the wires connected properly? What bulbs did you install? Wattage?

I have heard that the constant flex of those wires can lead to trouble. Glad you found it, and thanks for reporting the solution for us all.
