you shouldn't need projectors, they're not HID's, HIR's are essentially standard halogen lights with a much more efficient design.

For the record, I'll be using 9005/9006 socketed HIR lights in my car very soon.

Cool

Get some pictures. Since HID is a bust for Camrys without time, and money spent retrofitting, this could be the best solution to dim Toyota lighting.

And if you hurry with them, you can take full credit for being first Toy's-honor!

same and only guy on ebay ......

i like them the only thing is i have to replace the driver side fender so that my headlight on that side will line up right again (currently low and inwards) i was going to take the pictures last night but i got home at 1 and welll bed got too tempting.

and it's $30 per bulb not for a set

alex86: they did take a little longer to put in because i still had to grind down a little part of it so that they would fit. kinda like doing the 9005 to 9006 conversion (which i did as well but not with silverstars)

Wow. $60 for a pair + shipping...ouch. I got my silverstars for $20 a pair. Show us some pics of your modified 9005 and the new 9011 side by side if you can. I want to see if it's worth all that extra dough!

Good link, about time they're actually selling these in North America.

My questions are what kind of packaging did these came in? Does it say GE on the packaging/bulb?

$30 per bulb is actually not a bad price, I've paid more for mine.

I've been using mine for more than a year, but they're made by Polarg in Japan.

And for the record, 9011 is not a bulb size, it's just the GE's model #. And it's not a convertion either, they're still a pair of regular halogen bulbs. I would just simply refer to them as HIR bulbs.

They've been, ekam. candlepowerinc.com (IIRC) carries them and has for the past couple years. The Polarg's seem far preferable since you don't need to shave down the little tabs to fit them in (no more than the 9005 conversion, but even so).
The exact set I'll be getting is the polarg's as well, how do you like them?

I love them and I had HIDs before. They've been working perfectly fine since I put them on. It's a no BS upgrade.

Thank you very much for the pics chronoti! IMO I don't think it's that much of an improvement over stock, but that's just me.

Ekam, do you have pics you can post also?

I'll try to take some pics of stock vs. silverstars some time later.

hrmm. i wonder if i can some how convert my 9004 harness to a 9005 so it can support HIRs unless they make HIRs that fit 9004. any suggestions? currently i have Eurolitez and they put out a good amount of light but not enough to impress me. i might just plan on fixing my headlights because the passengers sides beam is weak compared to the driver side.

Very nice pics. I'm even more excited now that I've seen the output of HIR's.

tntang:
I don't have any pictures for comparison. I personally don't believe pictures can do justice, there are way too many factors that will affect the results seen in photos.

alex86:
GE hasn't come up with dual filament design yet (they own the HIR patent) so the answer is no they don't sell them for 9004.
