I finally decided to post some pics of two of my latest mods. I decided to get Tein coilovers. I missed the first D2 group buy, and I decided to get Teins when I could no longer reach someone for Ksport. Right after I got the Teins, then the second group buy for D2s happened. Oh well. I am very satisfied with the ones I have. I also installed a bigger brake kit provided by ericsol. I have yet to install the SS brakelines.
I also installed the URD fuel upgrade, and a 6PSI pulley. I did a dry compression test before I went to 6PSI, and I got numbers around 170 for the front three cylinders.
I had to do the rewire for the knock sensors, and I cleared the code. I still get running rich.P0172
When I find the pictures to the other mods, I will post.
Andy: The teins are the same for the gen 4 camry and the solara. The aprt numbers are the same. They were for the V6. You can fit them on you I4 as well. Teins dont come with pillow ball mounts. You use the stock strut mounts. The only differences are the front ones. The rear mounts are the same. I used gen 3.5 mounts and they fit. The little grove didn't like up perfectly, but it still did the job, and the bolts were tight.

will : thanks for the quick reply...dang if i knew about teins fitting on the gen3 i would of saved up more money and went coilovers...the setup i have right now h&r/kyb's are alright for handling, way better than stock...but its not as stiff and is very soft... maybe once i get a v6 camry, i'd probably put teins on those
Damnit Will you let the cat out of the bag on how to fit Tein coilovers to a gen 3!
Very impressive dude, your car is one of the best sleepers Ive ever seen. Much props. I know that with your old pulley and 4 people in the car, it felt just as fast if not faster than a stock or lightly modified EVO. I cant imagine how quick it is now. Great stuff man.
you can do that with a V6 ...
YOu can install '97 V6 hubs and the tein's will fit but this require you to run the V6 trans...
Camry2xrunner: The braking increased a great deal. The bigger rotors, and the carbon fiber pads some people were talking about made a big difference. I have to install my SS brakelines and see what happens.
Andy: If I knew they fit too, I would have told you. I just tired them since everything I swapped on was gen 4.
Allen: I did a roll with an evo 8 after I installed my coilovers, brakes, and exhaust. I didn't have my fuel upgrade, so i ran a little lean, and I ended up being my front bumper at his rear bumper. I could feel it lag at the top end. I don't know what we would do if we ran again. After the fuel upgrade, and the pulley, I do not know what I can do yet.
Justin: I do not understand what you mean about changing the hubs and running the tranny. Please explain to me. I am curious now. When I have stood any of the suspensions I had side by side, they all lined up to the same points. The only differences I found were with the strut mounts at the top
I found pics of my exhaust. I am looking for pics of the fuel install, piggy back and pulley.

hhhmmm thats interesting... because I have 3rd gen V6 hubs and the 1997 solara bolt holes on the shocks dont line up for me ... What year hubs are you running ???
The only way a inline 4 for guy could run this setup is to run V6 hubs... the axles are different from 4cylinder trans and v6 trans...
Andy: I will try and get a picture. My friend probably has them on his camera, but he isn't back from a trip. It's about 2 inches lower. I was sitting next two a stock camry, and you notice a big difference when they are next to each other, but by myself, you can't notice it till I go over a speed bump. I scrapped the crap out of the bottom the first time I went over a speed bump cause I didn't know exactly how low I was.
Uselain: Thanks
Justin: Now you have me thinking. When I had the I4 and the V6 struts, the holes all lined up. Nothing was different. I do have the gen 4 V6 parts, so that may be why I had less problems. When you say the solara and camry holes don't line up, now that I think about it that is right. My gen 4 bottom and the coilovers were slightly off due to the thick paint on the coilovers. By slightly, I mean very, very little differenceThe bolts still went through, but they had to be worked through slowly. In the end, they still fit nicely without any drilling or anything.

Thats the thing you have gen 4 hubs ... I mean that the bolt holes on the 3rd gen vs the 4 gen are different...

hehe, kinda the same thing happened to me after i did suspension on my car...altho it was only about 1.5 drop in the front...when i took the car out for the 1st time and went to ralph's to get some snacks, i accidently hit the parking concrete....
Justin: You gotta be right. Now I know what you are talking about. You meant where the two 20 something mm bolts connect at the bottom of the strut to the steering knuckle. I was confused about the hub part. When I compared them, they lined up the same when I was doing my suspension changes.
